Weeping woman - reproduction on art poster
EXPLANATION:
I painted this painting shortly after the death of our son and is the symbol of my own grieving process.
A crying woman is standing up with an outstretched arm.
In her hand a rumpled piece of paper, symbolizing the many unheard prayers.
The attitude of this woman expresses brokenness; her world is standing still, she no longer sees a solution.
Literally she stands with her face against the wall. That is why she does not see the light falling on her; the light that is a sign of God's presence and consolation. She will not experience that comfort if she does not turn around first.
