Item 6 of 25

Psalm 27 - reproduction on art poster

€ 20,00

Explanation:

The man in the prayer shawl (tallit) has fled into Gods Temple.

He is now in the innermost part of Gods Tabernacle, and is resting.

The light of the menora (candlestick) falls upon him and he is strengthened by the word of God; the Torah scroll.

On the scroll is written in Hebrew the first part of Psalm 27.

The menora appears out of the scroll and forms the word Yesha (in Hebrew) which means: 'my salvation'.

The name Jesus, or Yeshua, also originates from this word.

 Psalm 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation - so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?

When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.

One thing I ask of the Lord - the thing I seek most - is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord's perfections and meditating in his Temple.
For he will conceal me when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary.
