Item 12 of 22

Cambodian woman - original size 70-50 cm

€ 125,00

Explanation:
This painting was painted in commission for an auction for a shelter for children in Borneo.

This Cambodian woman is refined by pain.
She has seen a lots of family members dying of AIDS, but in the misery she met Jesus.

That is why, in addition to dark colors, I also intentionally used gold shades; as if God shines on her in the darkness.

There I pull myself (now I have cancer) on, because I sometimes find it difficult to understand that there are people who only experience beautiful things. I am on a different planet, as it were. But I realize that purification is not a cheap process. It is about Christ being reflected in our lives. We all want to be gold, but a rough nugget has to be heated first to get the pure gold out of it.
