oil on canvas size 60-50 cm. sold (also available as a REPRODUCTION on CANVAS or ARTPOSTER) Explanation: Shortly after the death of my son I painted this grieving mother as a depiction of how I felt. An inconsolable woman leans against the wall with one arm outstretched towards heaven. In her hand is a crumpled piece of paper representing the many unanswered prayers. In her attitude of brokeness she stands in hopeless despair; her world stands still. With her face towards the wall she is unable to see the light shining on her; the light of Gods' presence and consolation. Unless she turns her face towards it she will not know Gods' healing grace. |
